Fort Mifflin - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania June 21 2010

On June 21, 2010 the Sparks Spirit Hunters team investigated historic Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The Fort is a great place for paranormal investigators and history buffs to visit. When we got there we were given some time to explore the fort on our own before our tour. Lorraine, our guide, gave us a thorough tour and then granted us full run of this large fort. We had the entire night to investigate and a large area to cover. During the night we had several personal experiences which always help to keep things interesting for us. During this investigation we had several obstacles to overcome. The mosquitoes are VERY BAD at the fort, so if you go to investigate, be sure to take plenty of bug spray! Also we had to deal with the noise of airplanes landing nearby. (See photos 10 and 11 below.) While this seems pretty bad for paranormal investigating the flights died off late at night so it wasn't that much of an issue for us. Over all it was a good investigation and we enjoyed our time at Fort Mifflin.

Our personal experiences

When we first arrived we were given some time to walk around the Fort and explore. Jared and Monique went one way while Jim and Todd headed the other direction. Jared and Monique were exploring the side entrance to the Fort. (Photo 33 below) When they were exiting they heard two males having conversation from around the powder magazine. (Photo 15 below.) Thinking that it was Jim and Todd joining them they investigated only to find no one else in that area of the Fort. The only other males in the Fort that night were Jim and Todd but they were very far away on the other side of the fort. To far for their voice to travel.

The next personal experience was witnessed by both Todd and Jared on separate occasions. At the Fort, they have modern bathrooms set up in one of the old buildings. (See photo 20 below.) There is a red light that is always on that illuminates inside this building. At separate times of the night they both saw someone pass in front of that light and block it out only to discover that no one was in, or around that building.

In casemate 5 (See photo 40 and 41 below.) Jared and Monique kept seeing dark shadows dart in front of them as they sat in the dark. (See the video below.)

In casemate 4 (See photo 42 below) Jared had the sensation of someone pulling his equipment vest up from behind him even though no one was around.

We were spending time in casemate 5. It was around 2 am. In the dark, Jared and Monique kept seeing shadow figures dart in front of Monique and to her right. She was sitting on one of the bunks attempting to obtain a response from any entities that were present. The shadows that they were both seeing were darting between the door and the bunk where Monique was sitting. The claims in Casemate 5 seemed to center around blonde women and this seemed to hold true in this experience. We were lucky enough to capture part of this on camera. It is always great to get evidence that backs up a personal experience.
